![]() It's got a sort of early 90's feel about it with a sort of EGA like quality while there are elements of system shock in it. Void Bastards is another you could look into. System Shock remake is coming along, it's going to be released within the next 4-6 months. Looks like doorkickers with a horror theme. ![]() If you liked Prey's mystery and atmosphere, Dark Wood is excellent, and it has the added benefit of not being another FPS in a futuristic environment, unlike many of the others on this list. They only take about 5 minutes to install. The Steam forum has info on the quick fixes you will want to get to avoid weird computer glitches. Accept that it is from 2008 and some of the design elements are dated - namely it is very linear, but it has aged remarkably well. Its a lot of fun, and theres even a sequel on the way in. I can't think of anything that's modern though, Dead space is still my favorite linear shooter of all time, Fear is alright, Metro is boring AF imo, Maybe control since that's a metriovania. With a sci-fi bent, The Outer Worlds sees this particular dysfunctional society colonizing in space and terraforming alien planets. It why I tended to be drawn more to the souls borne sekiro series, even games that were similar to them like salt and sancutary, or maybe hades, were also good titles. games like the outer worlds, skyrim, the witcher, fallout series, kingdom come deliverance, far cry, cyberpunk, metal gear 5 all great games in their own right but also not my cup of pee because there was so much down time walking around this world. I also dont like open world games with giant set pieces all that much, way too much down time and what not. I dis-liked dishonored however for the same reasons i couldnt get into games like thief or styx. Like yeah, games that came before and are essentially just inspirations to this game, system shock series, bioshock series, deus ex, and a few games from the same studio dishonored are good examples. I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of this game, is it the fact that it's somewhat horror? is it the fact that it's horror actions from a first person perspective and the fact that it being in first person is very immersive? or bits of that being with all of the essentially story elements along with the actions just being entertaining? Electronic Arts liek to ruin their franchises with greedy intentions. Honestly, every aspect of this game seems way too perfect to be true.I'm suprised no one has said Dead Space. ![]() The game’s world, Night City, appears to be a fully fledged city, as big as real cities can be. Often regarded as the best Fallout game available AND also developed by Obsidian Entertainment (the developers of The Outer Worlds), Fallout: New Vegas is set in 2281, in a reimagined Las Vegas devastated hundreds of years before by the nuclear war that happened in every Fallout game, and you play as the Courier, a character that was ambushed while delivering a package and nearly killed.
